Birubi completed the installation of approximately 4km of a new potable water network with almost 90 connections servicing the town of Marree from the newly installled desalination plant constructed by SA Waters major framework partner JHGO.

Birubi’s scope of work included:

• Survey

• Trenching, bedding, pipelaying and backfill for 3.5km of DN100 PVC and DICL watermains and OD63 PE pipe

• All associated fittings, including 8 stop valves and 35 hydrants

• Installation of 85 metered property connections

• Supply and installation of concrete thrust blocks

• Connection to the existing water main

• Reinstatement of road pavements

• Compaction testing and pressure testing

• Disposal of spoil (including potentially contaminated soil from railway easement)
