Wistow Tank Drainage
Wistow 2.4ML Concrete Surface Storage Tank is located in SA Water’s Central System – Woodside Region, and supplies water south down to Strathalbyn and Milang and also all the higher areas of Mt Barker. Wistow tank is fed from Littlehampton Pumping Station. The tank was built in 1999 and provides water to 2,627 customers.
Birubi were engaged to undertake temporary civil works for SA Water to improve stormwater flow around the Wistow Tank sloping the surrounding surface to a newly constructed swale.
The scope of work included:

Construction of ballast rock swale (lined with geotextile material)

Supply and installation of approximately 13m of DN 150 pipe to the pipe outlet location
All works were undertaken in a manner which still allows normal operation of the water storage tank and elimination of water contamination risks.
